I like to implement flexible seating in my classroom. That will give my students the choice of seating. They may sit on rug, bouncy ball, or wiggle chair, which we need for our room! My students can really benefit from a wiggle chair because it will allow them to move around and it will complement their energetic personality. As an added benefit, many of these types of seats help strengthen the core, back, and ab muscles while they are working on math, writing, or reading. In addition, those students who have attention issues will be able to use foot bands or wiggle seats to help keep them more focused and engaged. Some other item that I wish to have are sensory items that could greatly help with kids’ anxiety and stress and will be utilizing it in my quiet area. The sensory items will help the students calm down and concentrate. Wiggle chair will help my hyperactive kids as it will help them move around and not just sit still. Other item like pop its are interactive as it will help them concentrate and also implement it for learning like applying each pop for a sound of a word. .
