Anchors in Excellence Diving Into Learning
Funded Dec 7, 2024My students were so surprised to hear that a group of people donated money to our project. Students keep asking me , "but why teacher, why would someone donate money to buy these"? I explained that there are great people out there that believe all students can learn. Some people will do what they can to provided unique materials that all students can experience regardless of their social economic status and experiences or school. Our class can now use the table tops to work closer to the classroom projector. These work excellent for students that wear glasses and it also helps accomodate learning styles. The floor mats motivate students to stay on task as it is used as a privilege during carpet instruction time. The magnetic boards are used during our small reading and math groups. It makes a difference to have students work with durable materials as they are interacting about learning.
My students also wanted me to make sure I wrote how grateful they were to receive the materials that enhance and accommodate their learning journey as first graders.”

Good Materials Expected Learning
Funded Nov 23, 2021My students and I appreciate your donations, that made it possible to have the hands on math manipulative and the English, Spanish reading materials. Students were so excited to open the boxes. They could not believe it was for our classroom . We used the number chart daily for number recognition, missing numbers and before and after. The magnetic 10 frames are used daily to model addition and subtraction concepts. The number of the day chart are also used daily during calendar concepts. The number bond dry erase materials maximizes student's concept understanding on how to apply successfully the number bond for addition and subtraction equations. The Spanish and English reading materials give parents and students the opportunity to transfers skills from one language to the other for comprehension and understanding. Our first grade classroom thanks you for all your donations.”
