With a new school year comes new students. Along with making my students feel welcome and supported in my classroom I like to help them feel comfortable no matter the social situation they are in. This year I am hoping to add many new resources to my classroom to help students understand the feeling they are having, and help them to learn how to handle those feelings. I am requesting a variety of books that teach about emotions and different seating options to give students a calming place to work through emotions. My goal is to increase student engagement and active learning through flexible seating, as well. This flexible learning space in my classroom will increase student ownership, motivation, and engagement where students will be in charge of making positive choices for their own learning. When students are comfortable and satisfied, they can stay focused and work for longer periods of time.
Please help to empower my students by giving them the choice of how they would like to learn and succeed.
