  • Getting Psyched for Psychology

    Funded Dec 2, 2024

Thanks so much for this donation fulfillment! The use of these supplies will help enhance hands on learning for our students. It’s incredible to be able to have a community that values the importance of education and helps to advance fun and engaging learning in the classroom. Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shackelford

  • AP US Government and Psychology Supplies

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

The students have loved all of the additional resources and materials that we have had in class. Students have had the opportunity to use the hexagonal thinking activity prior to every test and have said that it has helped in making the necessary connections to demonstrate mastery of the content in the course.

Students have had the opportunity to develop more critical thinking skills as a result of having to think about the course in a big picture by using all of the small pieces as supporting evidence.

In the future the plan is to branch out to on level classes and not just use this material for AP classes.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shackelford

  • Let's Get Psyched About Learning!

    Funded Jan 21, 2022

Thank you so much for helping me enhance the learning in my classroom! The students will be able to enjoy this for years to come. Learning can be boring when it’s just about books and traditional ways of learning. Hands on learning is a simple way to expose more content and application.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shackelford

This project is all about helping students become more engaged n the classroom after feeling so disconnected from school as we have been in and out of in-person learning for a few years now. The toy sorting and blindfolds will be used during the sensation and perception unit where students will do a variety of stations that test different senses. Instead of just reading about the different senses, this will give them first-hand experience of each of the senses and will get to report back about what they felt or thought about with each station. The legos are used for students when learning about research methods. When conducting experiments in psychology, it's important to understand replication and how to replicate an experiment. Students get into groups of four and create anything they want with the legos. The catch is that they must make a list of instructions for another group to replicate what they have created. The objective is that students learn the importance of how to set up an experiment so that it can be replicated. The bobo doll is to be used during the social learning chapter. Students will walk into the class and observe a student punching the doll, and then we will see how likely it is that other students conduct the same type of behavior to each other about observational learning. Lastly, the pocket constitutions are for my government classes to give each student their own copy. Students receive their copy to truly learn to appreciate the rights and freedoms that we have and understand the importance of the words written in that document.
