  • Tub Task Totes

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

The tub task totes arrived last week and were assembled and put to use right away. They have been filled with quiet, independent learning activities for my students.

My students have learned how to take and return the tubs to their place when finished using them. They are working really well, playing independently as we all enter the classroom and prepare to start our day at different times.

These tubs are a wonderful way for my students to use their creative and thinking skills to build and create. They also allow for the adults in the room to assist children who need more attention.

Thank you for donating to my project!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Russell

  • Rock and Read

    Funded Mar 2, 2022

We have received and assembled the new rocking chairs for our classroom. The children were so excited to receive the boxes and watch me "build" the chairs.

They instantly wanted to sit and rock in them and were very good about taking turns.

The chairs have already been used for reading, rocking babies, and playing school. They will also be used for movement breaks for some of my students that have difficulty being still for longer periods of time or just need a movement break to recalibrate their little systems.

Thank you so much for donating to my project and helping us purchase the rocking chairs!”

  • Preschoolers Share and Solve Problems

    Funded Nov 18, 2020

Thank you so much for the new books! The students couldn't wait to open the packages and see them. Reading about rules for the playground has given us a great opportunity to talk about what it is safe for us to do on the playground and what we need to do to be careful.

We have also been learning about taking deep breaths to help calm ourselves so that we can think about our problem and how to solve it. We are reading book together at our circle time and working to make our classroom a welcoming place for everyone.”

    Mrs. Russell

  • Littles Learn Kindness and Listening

    Funded Nov 18, 2020

Thank you so much for your generosity to our classroom. The students were elated to see boxes of new books and to explore new titles. We have been working to develop listening skills with our ears, eyes and bodies. Our class favorite has been Howard Wigglebottom!

We are also exploring kindness. Our class has been reading the books about kindness and making a list of ways to be kind to each other in our classroom as well as others at home and outside of school. We are ready to spread kindness throughout our school and our community.

Thanks again for providing resources and inspiration!!”

    With gratitude,

  • Building Creativity and Classroom Connections

    Funded Nov 12, 2019

Thank you so much for supporting my preschool students! These materials will be used for creativity and social learning. My students will gain many skills thanks to your generous donation. These manipulatives will also help them gain fine motor and math skills while learning to work together as a team.”

  • Science Magazines for Kids

    Funded Apr 12, 2018

Thank you so much for your donations to this project. I have been amazed to see the reach that it has had. Our students are able to take home the monthly magazines, which extends our reading practice into the home. The home-school connection is important especially as we grow young readers.

In addition to reading skills, our students have been able to use the IPEVO pen to explore activities on the white board related to the topic from each magazine. For example, they have been able to identify colors, letters, and shapes. They tap on letters as the computer suggests and tap on shapes to create a bus!

My special education students are really enjoying the simple, easy to understand text that is in the magazines. One student commented that he likes when we get to read at school and at home about apples!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Russell

  • Custom Cutouts for Little Learners

    Funded Aug 29, 2018

The Cricut has helped to create projects for our classroom. These include craft activities to help with learning and comprehension, such as ordering circles by size to build a snowman. We also created a snowman game which helped with body identification and matching. The children loved getting to be creative during both of these activities.

The Cricut was used to create hands of many colors to represent our differences and similarities. This was a wonderful, social activity. The children were so excited to find a hand that matches their's.

Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Russell

We will be discussing similar topics of study and help our students to be engaged in the classroom. I have a cluster of English Language Learners in my classroom. They love new materials, and I love the fact that they can take this copy home to share with their families. My precious students will be able engage in developmentally appropriate materials that they can take home. The Scholastic magazines and books will promote literacy through science and social studies and help us support our young learners. The students in my classrooms love something to share at home with their families. This magazine will allow for each student to make a connection at school that they can then take home and share with their families. I am especially excited about the digital version that comes with a variety of interactive online resources that enhance each lesson.
