My students are continuously exercising and staying active in Power-lifting classes. Students of all sizes can participate in competitive weight lifting in the Power-lifting program. Athletes only compete against athletes who are in the same weight class as them. Squat, bench, and dead-lift are the three lifts in which each lifter competes. The total weight lifted by each contender is then totaled together, and the contestant with the highest total weight lifted wins his or her weight class. Each competitor contributes to the team total by earning points based on where they place in their respective weight class. When my kids practice in class, they sweat profusely and require many water breaks. During class, I want my students to be nourished and hydrated. My students will benefit greatly from the water and Gatorade. To stay hydrated, they will have continual access to water and Gatorade. The Gatorade will aid in the replenishment of minerals lost through perspiration.
