New Soccer Balls for High School Team
Funded May 31, 2023It was so amazing to have this project funded by you. Our program is run completely by fundraising, participation donations, and donations by other members of the community. One of the biggest items that the players have been asking for is new soccer balls. These soccer balls are the perfect answer because our teams are able to use them for their practices and their games because of their high rating. Not only are the soccer balls so appreciated, but the pumps are also a necessity because we have split one pump between all 3 levels which can be somewhat difficult at times.
Thank you so much for supporting the Peninsula High School Girls Soccer team. All of our players are dedicated and want to make this season their winning season. I have only recently taken over the program and I want to make sure I provide everything I can for the team and this was the first step. Your donation has helped me support the players in a way that makes them feel appreciated and ready for a great season.”

Books to Promote Discussion and Growth
Funded Feb 3, 2022Your donation allowed for my students to take part in book clubs that focused on each student choosing his or her own titles. I had groups of students all read the same book and then the groups would have weekly discussions about their books. My students were so animated in their class discussions and clearly enjoyed their books more than any core novel I had assigned during the year. Giving my students the opportunity to choose their books had a really strong impact on their engagement over these last few weeks and guided their last essay in which they were able to choose their topic based on their books.
I am uploading one of the last assignments they completed that focused on a character from the novel, a theme from the novel, or the overall plot. Then students drew the most interesting image from the book they read. Students enjoy this type of assignment because it gives them the chance to be artistic and still analyze the book without writing a full essay about it.
Thank you so much for supporting my classroom and giving me the opportunity to give my students options in their reading choices. I saw such a great improvement in the majority of my students' engagement. As an English teacher, I always want to try to foster their love for reading and your donation has allowed me to do just that.”
