  • A Loud Speaker for Some Loud Kids!

    Funded Aug 10, 2024

I just want to say thank you again for your generosity! My class has been so excited to use our speaker in the classroom. We use it multiple times a day and it has been wonderful.

I have a handful of students who have specifically benefitted from the music in the classroom. I notice a huge difference in their ability to focus and engage in their work when we have music playing compared to when it is quiet.

Again, thank you for your kindness and generosity. On behalf of my students, we are so grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Taylor

  • Epic iPads for Some Epic Kiddos

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

I just want to say thank you so much for your donations that made this project possible! The iPads arrived a few months ago and we have already been putting them to plenty of good use. The students were ecstatic when they arrived, and have been loving the chance to use them in many different ways.

Some of the ways our iPads have been used are as follows:

-Creating "Book Trailers." Each student was put into a group with 4-6 other students, and they all read a book together over the course of a month or two. They would discuss the book after each time they met. After they finished the book, they would use the iPad and iMovie app to create a Book Trailer! Think like a movie trailer you would see in a theater prior to a movie, but for the book they just read. When they had all finished, we held a small assembly for anyone in the school who wanted to come to our "Premier." We rolled out a red carpet, let the students walk it to tumultuous applause, and watched the trailers all together. They loved it!

-Another way we are using them is to create "God Cards." My students have learned about many ancient religions this year, including Ancient Egypt, Greece, Norse, Chinese, and Japanese religions. They are using the iPads now and the painting app Procreate to create Trading Cards of each of the Gods they learned about. They are able to apply the art skills learned through the year to create some exciting and fun images that will get printed out on professional looking cards!

Again I want to thank you for your selflessness in helping me to achieve this goal. It will be a gift that gives back to students every single year!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Taylor

  • A Magical Harry Potter Reading Experience

    Funded Aug 17, 2022

Words can't express the gratitude I feel for your generosity! I have seen amazing things happen among my students because of this project and your willingness to give. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I have seen kids in my class have a complete shift in their attitude toward reading after completing this project. Before starting the book, I took a quick poll with my class, asking, "Who enjoys reading?" About 10 students raised their hand, leaving roughly 20 with their hands down. I asked the same question after this experience you made possible, and all but one or two students raised their hands.

Since completing this project, I have had multiple students that originally resisted reading, continue to ask me for suggestions of books to read. It is all thanks to you that this happened!

Again, on behalf of me and my students, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Taylor

  • Wanted! Music and Creative Tools in Our Classroom!

    Funded Jan 22, 2022

I cannot begin to show my gratitude for your generosity! You have made it possible for my students to have some excellent and exciting tools in our classroom that are being used daily to help students curiosity and knowledge grow in ways that couldn't be done without you!

Our 3D Printer that was funded by you is being used daily to print really exciting pieces. We have printed over 35 individual prints since receiving it, and my students love watching each one being built layer by layer. We have been able to learn about some physics, science, and history with some of our prints. Most recently, we 3D Printed the United States Capitol Building during a Social Studies unit, and everyone had a chance to look at it close up. It has been truly wonderful!

Our piano has also been a serious blessing in our classroom! Music has always been a huge part of my life and I've wanted it to be the same in my classroom. Since receiving the piano, we have learned two class songs that we sing daily. When my students first arrive at school each morning, we all sing "Seize the Day" from the Disney movie "Newsies" as loud as we can. The whole hall can hear when Mr. Taylor's class is starting our day! We also wrote a song together as a class that we sing before we go home at the end of the day, to the tune of "Remember Me" from another Disney movie, "Coco."

I am so grateful for your generosity. Thank you endlessly for providing these amazing tools for my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Taylor

First off thank you for taking the time to read this! My 3rd graders are so special and mean the world to me, especially as it is my first year teaching! They have gone through a lot during the time they've been in school with Covid, and I would love to give them something to help with their social-emotional wellness, and at the same time some very hands on and applicable ways to learn about STEM! My students are instinctively curious, passionate, and excited about learning, and as their teacher I feel it is my job to ensure they have the tools to explore. By being able to have a 3D Printer in our classroom, we will be able to see hands on how Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math can work hand in hand with each other to create amazing things! As an owner of a 3d Printer of my own, I know that many challenges come with these things! It will be a great opportunity for students to work through problems together and eventually end up with a finished product that they can have ownership of! My students and I also love music, it is constantly playing in our classroom. I am a firm believer that music can be used to teach and remember important things. I took piano lessons for 11 years starting when I was 8 years old, and my piano instructor told me one of my all time favorite quotes. "Music is what feelings sound like." That has stuck with me and I have loved the thought of it ever since! I want so badly to pass on my love for music with my students, and a digital piano would be a fantastic way to do this.
