Embrace Our Community
Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you so much for donating to my project. Today, my students and I completed the project we had been working on using the materials your donations provided us with, and I am so proud of how it turned out.
My goal was to find a way to represent all of my students in our 6th grade "pod" and fill the pod with positive messaging to remind them that they can do hard things. I created "The Handprint Project" in which every single 6th grade student created a hand that represents who they are- their culture, background, things they enjoy, people they love, and anything that makes them happy. My students took to this project better than I could have ever imagined and created the most meaningful, beautiful artwork.
I created this video to show how we made our pod come to life, and I hope you enjoy seeing what you helped create: https://youtu.be/VLi5XsghNTw
Thank you so much again, we could not have done this without you!”

Funded Sep 9, 2021Upon receiving the new resources for my office, my students were so excited. They immediately made note of how comfortable, inviting, and calming my office space now was, and have been able to further utilize the space when in need of support.
So far, I have made copies of all of the worksheets in my new workbooks to use with students in my office, and they are now in a master binder. I also have given out many journals to students in need, as well as pop-it bracelets to help students focus.
Almost all of the students that have come into my office have utilized the weighted lap pads and plush animals as a means of comfort, and grounding. They also love using the zen paint board as a calming strategy, and have loved the yoga as well.
These resources have been absolutely incredible in creating a safe, comforting space for students in need. I am eager to continue my work with mindfulness as the school year continues, and plan to find a way to integrate some of my worksheets and yoga techniques into classrooms.
Thank you so much donors!!”

Middle School Mindfulness
Funded Aug 12, 2021I am beyond grateful to have been able to obtain bean bag chairs for my office, as they are already making a positive impact in my office space. I was able to make a small "zen" space in my office, where students can sit and relax when needed, or when meeting with me.
With students beginning school fully in-person this year, I have already started the year seeing many students who are faced with anxieties about the return to school, and having a safe, comfortable space for them to sit while practicing self-regulation skills has been very beneficial to them. Students were so excited to see the new addition to my office, and have immediately gone to use the bean bags upon entering my office. Many have expressed how much more comfortable they feel being able to rest their bodies when feeling overwhelmed, and I have been able to see a noticeable difference when they are leaving my office after taking the time to utilize the space.
I look forward to continuing to support students with emotional regulation and mindfulness skills in a space where they feel welcome and secure. Again, I thank you for your generosity and kindness, and hope you know what a significant impact you have made on the lives of so many students.”
