Research shows that there are numerous benefits to collaborative learning. Collaborative learning not only helps develop higher-level thinking skills which leads to a deeper understanding of the content, but also promotes self management skills, oral communication skills, and social interaction skills. These large dry erase boards and grid paper will give my students the opportunity to more efficiently work in small groups as they explore and grow their mathematical thinking. Students will be able to discuss and share ideas by planning and drawing models on these larger scale whiteboards and grid paper.
