My scholars will be returning to in class learning for the first time since March of 2020 in a couple of weeks. While we are all worried about the new COVID variants, I want to create a space where we can focus on meaningful learning to overcome the learning loss that has taken place over the time spent in virtual learning environments as well as incentives for positive behavior. Materials such as sharpies and chart paper will allow for students to display work to be shared with their peers so that they can still maintain social distance while collaborating. I've also included materials to help reward them for positive behavior as they adjust to being back in a classroom environment. Some of these incentives, such as the poppers and fidget toys, will also help ease anxiety and increase focus. You will also find that I have added Xavier University of Louisiana stickers. In my building, we are organized into homerooms that are named after universities and this is my homeroom. Having some stickers that all match will aid in the team mentality that will bring us all together! I appreciate any and all donations to ensure that my scholars have the best year yet; they deserve it.
