  • Saving & Spending with Sense

    Funded Oct 4, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous contributions! I cannot wait to begin teaching my kindergartners the importance of financial responsibility! Please know that you are making a difference in my students lives as they learn and gain knowledge academically, as well as enhancing financial literacy skills that will last a lifetime!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dunbar

  • Reimagined Recess

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

My students have had several opportunities to play with their new toys during indoor recess. They have really enjoyed being able role-play and create scenarios with one another and I can already see their social interactions becoming more purposeful.

We were so excited when our items arrived at the school, we opted to have an "unboxing" during a small block of our time and they were thrilled to see all of their new items. I am so happy that they have had the opportunity to have not only new items but items that allows them to have real-life experiences.

I have had some of the "best sandwiches" served to me from their new sandwich shop, along with a steamy "hot cup of coffee". I have seen my students vocabulary expand since implementing these new toys into our classroom. I have a few students who now say that they would like to be veterinarians, dentist, archeologist and entrepreneurs.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dunbar

Unfortunately as of now my students do not have a rug to come and sit on in our classroom. This helps in social distancing and provides comfort to the students while listening to our stories and doing other activities. Every morning upon arriving and after eating breakfast we gather to the center of the room, so that I can read my students a story. Once we finish our story we discuss what happened, and how the characters were feeling. This allows for my students to learn at an early age their critical thinking skills and enjoying the magic of story telling!
