Flexibility for Better Results!
Funded Aug 9, 2022There are not words to express my gratitude for your generosity. Thank you, your contribution had a positive impact in our classroom. Students are more engaged and focus than ever. Allowing them choices within the seating and manipulatives has minimize classroom disruptions. Your gift has enhanced my students' learning and created a more memorable learning experience. Not only for my current students but also for my many more students to come. The materials that you provided will allow many children to learn, grow and explore in all content areas.

During, small group I can work more hands on with my students who are currently struggling with print and letter recognition through the usage of the sand letter and magnetic letters. These have been extremely helpful for student who are also working on segmenting and blending CVC words. It was April 18,2022, right after our spring break, I decided to surprise my students by setting up all the flexible seating before they arrived. I picked them up from the yard at 8:00am, we headed to the backpack drop off area and headed straight to room 7(our classroom). I proceeded to state "I have a very special surprise for all of the incredible students", they continued to make guesses without guessing correctly. I had them close their eyes as we were right outside our class and allowed them in with the condition, they had to keep their eyes close. Once in our circle time area, I allowed them to open their eyes, they were in disbelief, questioning where everything came from and if it was for our classroom. I proceeded to explain that very generous people had touched their hearts and contributed to our classroom.
Now the stools and scoops seats donated are being used daily. I have created an alternating system this way all students get a chance at least once a day. All students are beyond grateful and thankful for everything that was donated. They are surprisingly highly engaged when performing counting collections with the math manipulatives and enjoy using the jumbo ten frame that were donated by you. During small groups and as we are actively working on concepts such as phonics and letter recognition, they are interested in the target concepts because they are sitting in what they selected. Ultimately, providing choice in my class made a difference and all thanks to your contribution, it will not only serve this group but many more students to come.”
