Students will be using the scientific calculators not only for the Dream Up to Humanities project, but also will be used throughout the school year in all of the units.
For the Dream Up project, students will be using the data to calculate different parts of the gathered data so that they can answer the following questions.
Observe and Explore: How to Land the Space Shuttle from Space
Reflect in Writing: The space shuttle is retired, but what do you think the scariest part was for astronauts was when they landed the shuttle? Do you think the space shuttle was a good way to bring astronauts home? What are some main differences between “regular” airplanes and the space shuttle? How long do you think astronauts had to train before they were allowed to land the shuttle?
I need scientific calculators so that the students can calculate data that will be collected at the Colorado Rockies game. This data will give the students the opportunity to use the data to create box-and-whisker plots, historgrams, circle graphs, etc.
