I teach 7th grade civics at a Title I school. Title I schools tend to have lower income students, so I would like to provide basic classroom supplies for those students in need. In the state of Florida Civics has a End of Course exam, so students need to take notes throughout the year. I have found that having students have their own binders with their notes and class assignments organized helps them stay organized in other aspects of their lives as well. Teaching students how to highlight key words instead of full paragraphs will also help them as they promote to higher grade levels.
