A Break Space for Young Minds

This classroom project was brought to life by Bill Gates and 6 other donors.

These materials will be used to create a break space for my students. A break space is important because it will teach students how to take an effective break because at some point throughout our day, everyone needs a minute. Middle school is a challenging time. By creating a break space in my classroom, it will give students a safe space to regroup and refocus. Students will learn and practice different ways to take effective breaks. By having the tools to take a short break, students will be able to regroup and reset faster. This will help keep struggling students in the classroom and help them to be ready to learn in a safe environment where they feel like valued members of the classroom community.
