I am a first-year teacher starting out with no decorations or any resources to add to my new classroom. Resources like the attendance chart, activity center, and social studies posters are meant to brighten the classroom and engage the students via class activities. Items like nameplates, whiteboards, graphs and charts are meant to be the building blocks and foundation of my new classroom. I will strive to teach students about inclusivity and diversity and I want to create a classroom where students can explore their identities in a safe place and learn about their community. I want to create the best experience I can for my students as a first year teacher and I am certain that these resources will be a wonderful addition to my classroom environment. Most of the items on my list are the basics for supplemental teaching such as math games and reading games to help the students learning comprehension. Additionally, because the school I am joining is very diverse school, I wanted to include resources that cater to different learning styles such as manipulatives to ensure students have the opportunity to learn via different methods and have the support of differentiated lessons.
