  • Organizational Skills

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you so much for donating and helping my students to become more organized and stress free in the Health classroom. The folders and labels helped students to find their personal belongings easier, increased focus on learning as they spent less time searching for their assignments and notes and finally, be more motivated and engaged in lessons.

We have also been able to utilize the folders to participate in research projects and web based projects that considers how drugs affect one's community with violence. This allowed for students to monitor their progress and find their health based sources while collaborating with others on their projects. Due to the fact the folders keep students organized, there was less friction and more teamwork especially when students are in a large group. Once again, my students and I thank your generosity in making school much easier and very organized this school year.”

  • Art Therapy : Managing Emotions & Decreasing Anxiety

    Funded Dec 3, 2021

Students were able to express their thoughts and learned theories in a artistic manner. Thank you for helping students grow and understand that there are many ways to express not only their emotions but also concepts learned in the classroom.

By infusing art in the Health classroom, students were able to analyze and conceptualize the importance of good emotional and mental health. Art therapy was also used as way to help students manage behaviors, process feelings, increase self esteem and reduce the anxieties and stress of school and everyday life. Thank you.”

  • Cool Down Room: Addressing Mental and Emotional Health of Students

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

The emotional and mental impact of the cooldown space has been uplifting and provided a safe space for all students. The ability to deal with difficult emotions, toggle complex family and personal problems, or just to take a nap due to a difficult time at home the night before have made students feel comforted and cared for in educational settings. Students are often confused when told that they are allowed to decompress and work on their emotions by drawing, taking a nap, or listening to music but, leave the space feeling energized and grateful for the opportunity to unwind, reflect and refocus.

Students admire and feel calm in the atmosphere and also like to gather in the space to discuss issues or resolve conflicts apart from other classmates. Recently, after the all classwork has been completed students are also gathering in the space to play games such as Uno, Scrabble, and Jenga which increases their social health but also enables collaboration and connection. We appreciate all that you have done to make this dream, thought and idea come true to us, our peers and our school community”

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. My students are more engaged and willing to work when they are aware there is a space offered to deal with difficult emotions. It will also address any problems that affect their academic growth, as well as their emotional health. With an increased focus on social and emotional learning, the space will allow students an opportunity to decompress, but also reflect when dealing with negative or overwhelming emotions.
