In order to meet every student's needs, they need differentiated instruction. Our school is brand new and our music classes right now do not have any instruments for the students to play on. Each student has different learning needs. Most need visual aids or can learn aurally, but many thrive on a hands-on approach. Having more instruments in our classroom will help me meet every student's needs and make my class a more fun environment to participate in. The requested instruments will help enhance musical elements taught throughout the year. The recorders will help strengthen note and rhythm reading, as well as make music more kinesthetic for those who understand things better that way. Our school also has STEM classes, so a set of Makey Makey's will help cross connect music to technology. These will enhance learning and potentially gear students towards a career in music.
