My students will be able to use the Scholastic Storyworks resources not only to help increase their reading and writing ability, but will give me resources for cross curriculum connections to show real world application. It is important to me that my students are taught both academic knowledge and real world application. The magazines and digital tools will allow the students to explore many topics in depth such as; animals, environment, social connections, science, history, and current events. One of my favorite features of this program allows for differentiating instruction based on reading skills. I will be able to assign individual students leveled reading material based on their needs and abilities. The topics are the same for all students, yet the resources are differentiated allowing students a comfortable experience based on the needs of the individual student.
