My students are special needs students. Most of them cannot write, or have fine motor difficulties. They learn best kinesthetically. My classroom came with no letters or numbers that my students could hold in their hands. The magnetic whiteboards, magnetic letters, and magnetic numbers will enable my students who are confined to a wheelchair, to actively participate in the lesson in the same way as their fellow classmates. The letters and numbers will be used by the students to spell their names on their magnetic whiteboards. They will be used for assessments for learning, as I call out a number or letter, they can pick up or hand me the letter I have just called out. The letters will be used to spell out spelling words. The students will have the opportunity to generalize what they learn by identifying letters and/or spelling words or names by using uppercase magnetic letters, lowercase magnetic letters, or even present a puzzle of a requested letter.
