Good technology helps, not hinders, learning. And students deserve to feel valued and secure in the classroom. This tool helps them with that. These portable rechargeable mini voice amplifiers allow students to practice speaking clearly and confidently, and be heard, while adhering to safety protocols like masks and social distancing which negatively impacts communication between students and between student and teacher.
This is especially important because I value my students' lived experiences and always want them to be active participants in their own learning. This tool can be used in think-pair-share, small group, or whole class conversations, discussions, presentations, etc. While they continue to practice their speaking skills, and many of whom are emerging bilinguals (formerly known as English language learners), we all can benefit from their learning to develop their voices (literally and figuratively), hearing their voices clearly, and volume shouldn't be an obstacle to their progress or our collective benefit.
