The purpose of my project is representation and inclusivity! My students need to see themselves in the learning, reading, and conversations that take place within our classroom. Having an inclusive book collection will help facilitate an equitable learning space in which I can support student learning, engagement and identities! Some of the requested books are meant to spark interest or gain awareness, others are meant to validate students' lived experiences and promote a positive classroom environment in which we all work together as a community in support of one another
