  • Dual Language Library: A Passport to New Cultures

    Funded Nov 16, 2023

What a wonderful way to start off the 2024 school year! Thank you all so very much for believing in me and funding my project; I feel so grateful to you all. It really means the world to me! Your generosity will go far in making a huge difference in all of my students' lives.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ana P. Morales-Ponce

  • Phun Phonetic Activities!

    Funded Aug 16, 2021

My students have truly enjoyed their new Daily Practice Journals! We use them in small groups and they also have expressed interest in using them in partner work. I fully believe that you all have helped them to improve their recognition of important sight words that will make them better readers, and also better writers through our use of the word boards!

When I told my students that strangers believed in them so much that they bought them materials, they were so touched; they are not used to such gracious charity. They are excited and wish they could thank you all in person! While they understand they cannot, they all asked me to convey their deepest gratitude to you all.

From the bottom of all our hearts, thank you all, each and every one of you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ana P. Morales-Ponce

  • Students Certainly Cherish Centers' Sensory Activities

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Thank you so much for your donations! My students are going to enjoy their new furniture. I appreciate how you have helped my students with your generosity-- the kinesthetic learners will certainly love the wobble chairs in their small groups, as they peruse my class libraries, or when they work together at my centers. In class, we have discussed the possibility of people donating to help them out, and they still can't believe how generous strangers can be :-)”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ana P. Morales-Ponce

My English language learners can best master the English language through reading and journaling about what they read. Whether used in interactive small groups, partners, or individual practice, these visually appealing phonetic games will allow the students to acquire and practice the usage of important grade-level-appropriate sight words, to construct elementary sentences, and eventually, to independently create paragraphs and even short stories. I love seeing my second graders enthusiastically engaging at my Writing Center, offering suggestions and critiques as they help each other master the intricacies of elementary English. Through this interchange, they get the chance to speak, listen, and think about the English words and phrases they are learning.
