At our school last year, the majority of our students learned online. This school year, I am so glad to have students back in my classroom. I want to make sure that after such a difficult year, they feel I am preparing them for success in their AP Language and Composition class and for the exam and that I will take care of them as we navigate whatever might come as we return to learn during this pandemic.
The College Board has made some changes to the course and the textbooks I have are old. This project seeks to supply my students with updated textbooks that are aligned to the College Board changes and to current issues of our times. Another change that these textbooks will address is the possibility of distance learning because we want students and teachers to stay home if we feel sick and there might be times we have to quarantine. Technical issues were a huge problem last year and having a physical textbook to rely on will ease that burden. I also want to try to disconnect students from screens as much as possible by providing them with physical texts and no screen intruding on the conversations they have with their peers.
