  • Sensory Tools for All

    I cannot express how much it means to me to have these tools to reiterate to my colleagues the importance of accessibility to SEL tools. The funding of this project has been extremely helpful to help both students and staff with having SEL tools. Our classrooms have become a place where it is safe for kids to navigate their feelings. Thank you all so much for the smiles you've put on the faces of my students and staff! This project has allowed me to continue the mission of providing SEL tools to all those who want them in my community.”

  • STEM in Counseling!

    My students loved these tools. Thank you so much! Many were able to use them to communicate their feelings when they did not want to talk during counseling. To others, the legos open the door for them to feel safe. For me, these legos created a way to connect with students while doing something fun and exploring hands-on experiences and building. These lego sets allowed me to talk to my students about STEM and the various careers within that field but also, my students got to see how STEM can be used in other areas such as counseling. Many students on my caseload are quick to ask about the legos when they come in for counseling. They love having them as tools. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much!”

I am the school counselor to students who know trauma too well. Many have experienced trauma before and come to school in survival mode because they have lived in survival mode their whole lives. By having these tools available to them not only will they get some sense of normalcy back, but they will also gain tools that they can take with them for the rest of their lives, inside and outside of the classroom. Students remember experiences and these tools will make these experiences so much memorable for them. I've seen firsthand how having something as small as LEGOs and books can be transformative to a child, not just in counseling but also in the classroom, and life. Please consider funding this project as you will be truly changing lives when you do.
