My project will provide notebooks, tape, scissors and highlighters to middle school science students. Students will keep their notebooks in the classroom and use them daily for their investigations. Keeping a notebook helps students organize their observations and data, process their data, and maintain a record of their learning for future reference. The process of writing about their science experiences and communicating their thinking is a powerful learning device for students. And the student notebook entries stand as a credible and useful expression of learning. The notebooks are a great resource for students to engage in scientific practices and reflect on their learning and growth.
