This project is about welcoming students back to school after a year of sheltered learning isolated from their teachers and peers. All of the learning will be using to accentuate the value of teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving in an in-person setting. This will be a project-based experience that will incorporate design thinking strategies using the school farm as the client. Lessons will include proper use and ethical use of equipment and tools, introduction of design principles and the role of environmental factors in natural resources and will apply this information to the task. Students will utilize the drone in teams of five to design a farm layout that is efficient, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing. Considerations include environmental factors such as topography, wind patterns, and sun direction. The drone will be an integral tool in identifying key factors in determining the best placement for systems and plant production. They will partner with the Residential and Commercial Construction team to create the blueprint and layout maps.
