My students with special needs are all unique and learn in many different ways and sometimes one needs to limit a barrier to learning. Many of my students become frustrated when they are writing words or numbers using a pencil. Many times they know how to approach a problem but the writing becomes a challenge. The student has to remember if the letter b has the bump on the left or the right and there goes the solution and incomes the frustration. The magnet mobile flip board will allow me to individualize each students learning style. Some will want to place the magnet words and numbers onto the board to solve the problem There will be no need to use the pencil! Other students will be able to verbally state the answer and an adult can scribe the answer on to the whiteboard for a student to copy or type later. Magnet words will help students build sentences without the frustration of having to remember how to spell the words. These tools will help students answer questions limiting the frustration due to the inability to spell a word and write it correctly. The math tools will assist the students in preventing errors due to poor handwriting. The tools will allow the student to use a number line, fraction strips, and arrays that are ready to use. No need to master drawing a straight line! This project will let each student become a master of their own learning style by using tools that help them minimize their weakest and utilize their strength.
