My preschool class has students with a wide variety of needs, abilities, and interests. Each student deserves to have the opportunity and resources to engage within their learning environment. The people shapes are a fun way to create themselves into the classroom. They are all unique with physical ability levels ranging from wheelchair-bound to independent movers. Their disabilities vary too, some students have visual or communication challenges. Providing my students with an enriched environment that creates a safe space to explore and learn promotes lifelong learners. Seeing the ah-ha moments and knowing each student can access the materials is why I'm a teacher. The umbrella will provide a shady space for my student who is unable to run around during outside play. Activities such as sorting, sequencing, patterning, or snapping toys provide multisensory learning opportunities while working on fine motor skills. The light table, tactile letters and the Alphabet sound tubs will provide inclusive learning tools for students with visual disabilities to access the curriculum. Sensory play is important in development the magnetic water beads, sand toys, and adhesive shapes will provide each student with sensory play based on their sensory needs by providing multiple types of sensory manipulatives. Social development comes during learning times with the previously mentioned project items. Play items like the racetrack and drill provided during free and imaginative play create a opportunities of sharing, communicating needs and ideas while working on formulating plans. We thank you all for your support in advance!
