5th/6th Grade Field Day
Funded Mar 16, 2023The 5th and 6th grade scholars at Mildred Osborne truly had a blast at the Field Day in City Park, New Orleans. This was a competitive end of year celebration that everyone enjoyed. We cannot thank our donors enough for contributing to such a fun event!
Next year, there will be many changes at Mildred Osborne, so I greatly appreciate all of the support you all have provided for me and my students this school year. Your generosity has meant so much to me and supported my ability to provide fun, engaging, and authentic opportunities for my scholars. Until next time donors!”

Classroom Decor & Supplies
Funded Jul 16, 2022This school year has been amazing thanks to your thoughtful donations! My students have enjoyed the plant theme as it helped create a welcoming environment that fosters a growth mindset. Students use the affirmation station to pin notes and words of encouragement for the class to take as needed. Overall, students are enjoying the space and they love using the materials in the reflection corner, building confidence at the affirmation station, and reviewing the alphabet in sign language. As the year comes to a close, students will be moving on to 6th grade and have expressed how much they have grown in my classroom. I appreciate the support of my donors in elevating my impact on students.”

This classroom project was brought to life by General Motors and 6 other donors.Growing Math Minds
Funded Aug 15, 2021Thank you so much for your support this past school year! The resources you helped us purchase were quickly put to use to make my classroom more welcoming and collaborative. The timed multiplication tests supported students with multiplication fact fluency early in the school year. In turn, I was able to create a Multiplication Masters Challenge for the class which helped students get excited about learning their facts.
My students were able to work collaboratively with the fraction manipulatives you all helped us purchase. We played games with this resource that supported understanding of part-whole relationships.
Additionally, the base ten blocks were a hit with this group of students. Place Value is an important part of the major work at the beginning of 5th grade so we really appreciate having hands-on resources within the classroom.
We cannot thank you all enough! I will try to do better about providing pictures with future class projects. Thank you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Evans
