  • Let's Get It Started!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity! I can't express enough how much this will help our classroom run smoothly. All of the materials will go to providing students with enriching and engaging activities. My students are already excited about the prospect of creating vocabulary trading cards. Thank you again for all of your kindness and support!”

    With gratitude,

  • Comfy Corners

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity! You have truly transformed my classroom. Within the first 4 weeks, students have been working hard to earn a "Comfy Corner" ticket. It's one of their favorite prizes from the prize box. After filling out their bitmoji cards, they get a choice of prize and they almost always pick an item from the Comfy Corner. Their favorite is the bouncy ball!

This alternative seating option helps them start their day off with a smile! They also love using the floor seats during carpet time. I give them the option of using either a wobble stool or bouncy ball at their desks, and the floor seat at the carpet since we switch between the two areas most days.

I also have students from other classes come in for literacy and math rotations, and they are always in awe and eager to use one of the items if we're lacking a seat or two. The seating has transformed my classroom into a bright and relaxing environment. My students truly thank you for everything you've given them.”

    With gratitude,

  • Bags of Possibilities!

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

We just had our rendezvous where the students made their Possibles Bags! The whole experience was incredible and memorable for them.

We started by making our possibles bags and putting the items inside them before we did a trading post, which mimicked actual trading posts in early Utah. Students traded art, fidgets, snacks, toys, and other items and put them in their possibles bags.

Their experience was enriched when we had mountain men visit our class and give a presentation about the experiences of traders in early Utah.

I know they will remember this experience for a long time!”

  • A Home for Chrome

    Funded Aug 3, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation!

This is my third year in the classroom and I can truly say that I have seen a huge improvement, because of this Chromebook cart. Students thrive with consistency and the classroom runs smoothly when everything is working and has its place. I labeled our Chromebook cart with colored stickers. Each student is assigned a color and a number that tells them which port belongs to them, so there's no confusion.

Part of our morning math stations is Prodigy, which is a math game that ties into our power standards. We also use Gimkit (similar to Kahoot) to review language arts and math concepts. Students are also working on their animal reports right now and use their Chromebooks to research the animals habitats and their adaptations.

I cannot express enough how much this has helped our classroom! Thank you so much!”

  • Operation Stay Healthy!

    Funded Jan 6, 2022

Your generous donations have truly made a difference in our class! At the end of each day, we sanitize our room to protect ourselves from germs. Your gift has improved attendance during the most vulnerable time of year!

My favorite moment was when I replaced the hand sanitizer and all of my students went to use the bottle, maybe a little more than they needed, because "It smells so good!"

Our class sprayer, a job where a student hand sanitizes everyone's hands before we go in/out, now is never in a pinch when we run out of a bottle. I can tell you that hand sanitizer and Kleenex's are always in need in our classroom and you have helped us stock to the end of the year.

Students were overjoyed with the materials you've donated, especially the water bottles! Each student received a water bottle and they took the time to decorate it with sharpie sand stickers, adding their own personal touch. The number of trips in and out of class has decreased and lets us focus on learning!

I can't tell you how much of a positive impact you've made on my students! Thank you so much from 4th grade!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Garcia

  • Explore, Educate, CREATE!

    Funded Jan 30, 2022

My students were so excited to open their new art materials! Each student received a sketchbook which they use to destress and explore their creativity during free time. They are always so excited to come to school, especially on Fridays which is when we put our class art materials to good use!

They've used their paints and canvases to create art for their loved ones and to show one of the several ecosystems of Utah, which we are studying in science. We've used our watercolor materials to create scenes from our favorite books, most of which come from the book series "I Survived". My students are actively reading and exploring the genre of historical fiction using those books and art materials.

Now that we're approaching the end of the year, we will be starting on projects that explore self-identity and creativity. We cannot thank you enough for your generous donations that made this a reality!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Garcia

  • Ready to Learn!

    Funded Aug 6, 2021

My fourth graders are overwhelmingly grateful and excited for the materials you donated!

In fourth grade, we've begun learning rounding and multiplication in math! My students and I use our dry erase mats and dice for rounding games and now we're using them for multiplication! My fourth graders came up with a multiplication game using the colorful dice! Since they are twelve-sided, they roll a pair of dice and multiply the numbers that come up! If they get it correct, they get a point. If they don't, then the partner they are playing with has a chance to answer correctly to get a point. It's a wonderful addition of fun to their learning!

The dry erase mats and the dry erasers you have donated have also helped our class have an abundance of materials for new students, so when they come into our class, they have everything they need! Thank you so much for giving us what we need to set up each student for success.

The fidget toys you helped provide our class are used for so much more than something for their hands to play with! We also use those in small groups for sounding out sounds and for practicing addition, subtraction, and multiplication. I've seen my class grow academically and socially using these materials! We really appreciate everything you've helped us achieve through your generous donations!

The Chromebook holders have allowed us to keep our classroom computers organized and without any confusion about whose Chromebook belongs to who. It gives the students a sense of direction that helps our class community run smoothly. The beginning and end of the day routines are so much simpler and help us get what needs to be done, done.

We are overwhelmingly grateful for everything you have done to help our class succeed! We were all "Ready to Learn" at the beginning of the year and new students will be able to at any point they come in! Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Garcia

This year we're focusing on a Ready to Learn mindset which includes having materials prepared, charged, and ready to go! Some of my incoming students have not been in a classroom in the past two years or have struggled to adapt to a classroom climate. My goal is to set expectations on what a learning environment looks like. A learning environment is organized, motivating, and positive which is why I made the following list. To meet our organizational criteria, we need Chromebook stands. I want my students to know that everything has a place and that it needs to be charged prior to our learning time. This is especially important in case we have to go online. A learning environment is also motivating and positive, which is why I intend to use the stamps to provide quick positive feedback and to use the goal tracker to encourage meeting class reading goals. The whiteboards and erasers are used to provide a way of academic engagement during content instruction, and the dice to provide an educational activity that will strengthen their mathematical skills. Finally, research has convinced me that fidget toys act as a way to differentiate settings for students who need something tangible in order to focus. It is my goal to provide that so they can meet our Ready to Learn mindset. Thank you for considering my project!
