When students come to my room, we work on reading interventions. This usually includes a variety of different approaches to learning a specific skill. With this project, I hope to enhance the learning environment in my classroom by providing an alternative location in the room to learn that is comfortable and useful. The "Getting Ready to Read" rug includes the letters of the alphabet, numbers, and colors which can add to my lessons. It also provides a soft area to work on reading interventions as my room only has tile floors. Being able to spread out on the floor is needed for some activities and nobody wants to sit on the cold tile. Sometimes changing up the learning location a bit can be just the thing that motivates the student to learn better. The addition of the "Comfy Floor Seat" will allow me to join them on the carpet much easier or provide a special reading chair for the students.
