The use of interactive games, fitness, and sports materials will help my students to build relationships while they are reintegrating into the classroom. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of my students have been out of the classroom for nearly and year and a half. The materials chosen will help foster math growth, relationship building, physical and mental fitness, and collaborative learning among students. These students were in the early stage of their adolescent growth when the pandemic began, which is a critical time for social, educational, and emotional growth in the school setting. The goal of this project is to bridge any social and educational gaps that were created during the pandemic school shutdowns. My students come to school with a lot of energy and an eagerness to play. By integrating games and sports into learning, they will have the opportunity to funnel that energy into their math studies. During my Move with Math project, we will focus on math growth and fluency in order to grow and move forward as they prepare for the high school transition. The goal will be to spark their motivation for learning through engaging, cooperative, and challenging activities. The games and sports equipment requested will be integrated into the students' math lessons to help with math fluency building. We will use the materials to connect math concepts to interactive games that get the students up and moving. The use of the speaker will allow us to put music to what we are doing to further increase motivation and learning. The requested carts will be used to ensure proper storage. All necessary sanitation and safety will be implemented into my move with math project. Equipment will be cleaned, and students will be encouraged to practice appropriate social distancing and hygiene measures.
