  • Curriculum, Storage, and Microphone for Music

    The donations you made to the music classroom at John F. Ryan Elementary have increased the organization, space, and effectiveness of instruction within the music program.

    Thank you again for partnering with me to provide the supplies necessary to organize the storage space in our classroom. This has allowed me to order new instruments and curriculum that can further challenge and engage the students of The Ryan School. Furthermore, having a portable microphone has greatly increased my ability to reach all learners in the classroom. This is particularly true when teaching with a mask this year, and trying to instruct over drumming or background music.

  • Materials to Make Music Class Welcoming & Engaging

    The classroom materials that you have donated to the music room at John F Ryan Elementary have helped to create a welcoming and engaging environment in which each student has been able to have numerous meaningful musical experiences!

    From wall decorations to classroom supplies and curriculum, each and every item has been used by students this year. The World Music Drumming curriculum has been particularly impactful for students coming back to in-person music instruction after the year-long hiatus caused by remote learning during the pandemic. The overwhelming majority of students voiced that their favorite part of the drumming unit was learning the song Funga Alafia, a key piece of repertoire in The World Music Drumming curriculum to which your donations contributed.

    At this time, students have moved into creating and writing their own musical ideas. The whiteboards and erasers have been critical to this process, and the students really enjoy using them each and every class. Thank you again for your generosity.”
