  • Help the Gilas

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you Dr. Sippel and Mrs. Sippel for your generous donation to our classrooms! Your love and continued support is very much appreciated. These cleaning supplies and organization materials are not very glamorous, but they will have a huge impact on the success of our daily classroom routine and the health of our children.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cyr

  • Peace Begins With Me

    Funded Mar 12, 2022

Thank you for donating to our class. Students are enjoying the yoga mat and cards. We have explored ways to breathe through our emotions using the Mindful Mazes as well. Some students are even teaching their friends how to use the new work. The Peaceful Pebbles are a fun way to be creative and help slow us down in the classroom.

The dolls from around the world are a very popular work in the classroom this year. We have used them during group lessons and storytelling while learning about different continents and countries. They are an excellent addition to our work. Students use them to match to the continent puzzle work and create their own stories during creative play on the mat.

Thank you again for contributing to our classroom and helping the Gila Monsters learn that Peace Begins with Them.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cyr

  • Inspiring Our Gila Monsters Through Science, Technology, and Math

    Funded Aug 12, 2022

A huge thank you to everyone who donated to our STEM project. I am quite excited to see their faces when they begin to work with the human body materials and the math manipulatives on the light table.

Thank you for bringing the lessons I read about to life. Our classroom will be even more exciting this fall because of your generous donations.”

    Ms. Cyr

  • Big Ideas for Little Hands

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

The students in my class absolutely love the new Legos.

"Because they are really fun to play with," says Grayson.

"I like the Legos because I like to build with them," says Myla.

"I like to build a tall house. And they make me think of my Grandma's house," says Blake.

We have been able to use the social/emotional Legos to have lessons about how they are feeling and how their friends are feeling. We have added it to our "warm fuzzy" lesson.

"What gives you a warm fuzzy?" Warm fuzzies are things, people, or places that make us happy. The Legos and corresponding cards have helped us talk about healthy ways to express when we are not happy too.

Thank you everyone for donating to our class. We very much appreciate the support.”

    With gratitude,

  • Room with a View Garden

    Funded Sep 25, 2021

Thank you everyone who donated to our Room with a View! We have sprouts in three of our pots (sunflowers are sprouting and it's very exciting). We've been enjoying watching the carrots, onions, and radishes sprout. The children get to see the roots of the these root veggies using the RootVue. We have 4 caterpillars and 1 chrysalis.

Children worked together to build, plant, and care for each of our projects.

The children were very excited when the box arrived with the garden projects. It felt very much like Christmas. They even enjoyed using the shipping boxes to color, build, and use their imaginations to make a fort and an airplane.

Thank you again for contributing to our mini gardens throughout our classroom. These gardens go beyond the immediate lesson and continue teaching throughout the year.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cyr

Children will learn about the life cycle of a seed. They will have the opportunity to be responsible for the tasks involved with gardening. And, with any luck, they will be able to taste the fruits of their labor. Children will plant seeds and watch them sprout. They will have the opportunity to even watch what happens under the ground (not usually afforded this inside look at how the magic happens because it’s outside and underground). Children will observe and write or draw about their observations. They will discover the fun in growing flowers and vegetables while implementing math, language, and life science skills.
