For my project, I am requesting two iPads for my students to use in the classroom. These iPads would be used for a variety of subjects and would help students begin to learn how to use technology. I will use the iPads during small group instruction and allow students to take turns using them. During literacy groups, I will have students use the iPads to go on websites and apps such as Epic!, ABC Mouse, Lalilo, and Raz-Kids to further support their literacy skills. Similarly, for math groups, I would have students use the iPads for websites and apps such as Happy Numbers, Splash Math and IXL to help students build on their math skills. In addition to iPads being used for various apps and websites, using iPads would teach students how to use 21st technology. I would teach the student how to navigate through each app and website. I would give them step-by-step directions on how to log into websites and apps, how to troubleshoot if the iPad isn't working and how to carefully take the iPads out and put them away. These iPads will help support students' literacy, math, and technology skills in many ways!
