Similar to students all around the world, my students will be arriving in the classroom for the first time after a year of Zoom classes from their beds or crowded living rooms. Their attention spans will be limited. They probably can't even remember the feeling of sitting in a rigid desk in a classroom for 7 hours straight, and they may have lost some of the joy in learning. The materials I have selected will help my students readjust back to in-person schooling with flexible seating options and a math game corner. By donating to my project, you will help increase student engagement and attention and help students rediscover the fun in learning. The balance ball chairs will be used around the classroom as an option for students who might need more comfortable seating or students who might need a little bit of movement to motivate them to focus on their work. The collaborative floor work space will create a game corner for students during their brain breaks. This collaborative space with a small table and floor seating will be filled with the math games I have selected. These games focus on teaching the four operations, place value, telling time, and more in fun, interactive ways. The goal of this corner centers around creating a space where students can learn through playing games together, bringing back the collaborative, exciting aspects of school. Thank you so much in advance for your support in helping my students readjust in their return back to the classroom after a year of pandemic learning!
