  • Wonderful Worms! For 1st Grade Gardeners

    Your support has had a wonderful impact on our young learners, and I am happy to share the positive changes we've witnessed since your contribution.

    With your help, we were able to raise live worms and learn about composting and what it takes to nurture a healthy garden. The 1st graders have not only learned valuable lessons about planting, nurturing, and the natural world, but they've also developed essential life skills such as teamwork, responsibility, and patience.

    Your contribution has not only enriched the educational experience of our students but has also created a lasting impact on our entire school community.     Our writing workshop has been a success thanks to you! Students love their flexible seating options and stay engaged and focused on their writing as they wiggle around.

    We are embarking on our poetry unit and they are filling their notebooks with ideas and drafts. It is so sweet to see my students' joy as they pull out their very own writing notebooks and take them to their "writing spot" to get started. I want my students to have new, high-quality literature and comfy places to sit in the requested floor seats and enjoy it. I will design reading lessons around the books in the 2nd Grade Go-To Book kit which is curated by master literacy teacher/author Jennifer Serravallo. The classroom calendar and number of the day charts are morning routine essentials. We'll use them every day to get our minds warmed up and ready for a day of learning. Our classroom also needs basic supplies like Kleenex. Their generous company is currently matching your donations!
