Books allow us to travel around the world without even leaving the comfort of home. I want to take my students on a journey using literature to engage, enlighten and expose them to culturally relevant experiences using texts and technology. The portfolios have 7 sections to build a classroom passport, used as a visual guide to document their work from the beginning of the year (start of their trip) to the end (final destination). As they save their final, completed work or assignments they are most proud of, they will earn a stamp (grade) and be able to keep their work in a safe place. The portfolios will allow students to revisit their work and take pride in their growth.
