All children deserve access to quality literature that will help inspire, motivate, and encourage reading forever. It is crucial that young students develop a sense of joy for reading. In order to develop this joy, students need to have experiences with a variety of texts. My classroom has books that are old, outdated, irrelevant, and falling apart. This project will help build my classroom library for my 2nd graders. I want them to be excited to pick out books and excited to read them! There is nothing more powerful than an inspirational story and my kids will find that when they have access to an abundance of books.
