Learn to Play, Play to Learn! Students that come from poverty or have special needs, often need assistance to help learn about themselves and the world they live in. Dramatic play and sensory toys allow students the opportunity to learn their likes and dislikes. Role playing helps students practice social skills and observations. Sensory items and mirrors allow for sustained attention, stamina and all around joy.
The items in this fun project cater directly to students individual needs and promote healthy socialization and communication skills. Requested items like the round floor mirror will become a wonderful high interest center to build lessons and conversation. Dramatic play items like the popping lawn mower will be sure to be an opportunity to build friendships and bring whole bunch of giggles to the classroom.
Funding this project will not only create a happy, safe environment, but will directly impact the specific learning needs of this very high needs classroom.
