In the school year of 2020/2021, my students experienced what was the most toughest school year. Having seen them push through distance learning and having to adapt to so many changes, daily, has motivated me to give back the meaningful school experience that they had lost. With these supplies and resources, I know that it will enhance their learning and get them back into the groove and excited for the new school year. I want them to feel supported, safe, and have all things necessary to thrive through this school year. I want to be able to reward them in a way that they know the "tough" school year is now behind them as we slowly get back to normalcy. We'll be doing lots of hands-on lessons and creating projects that students can take home since last year, everything was digital. For our school fun fair, we'll be creating key chains for students to sell and make money for field trips and necessary grade level supplies in the coming year. As a Special Educator, these resources will also support me in creating necessary materials to meet my IEP students' needs. Teacher supplies would go towards daily needs in the classroom. While our complex is still trying to social distance as much as possible, that is where the PPE will come in handy. To continue with teaching safely and no longer having to use computers, a document camera will allow me to teach lessons from a distance as its shown on my smart board. I want students to still feel safe and not have to stress about having masks for just in case or necessary items for cleaning. I want to send a big thank you in advance and am so excited for all that I have planned this school year!
