Students in Need
Funded Feb 17, 2024My students are extremely grateful for the items able to be purchased through this project. Of course, anytime there are new snacks in my room students jump for joy but the ukuleles and flag surprisingly had the largest impact on these kids.
Being able to represent my student's Hawaiian culture in my classroom is extremely valuable. The flag is a sign of pride for their community that they hold so close to their hearts. The ukuleles were passed around from student to student showing of their skills that their elders had taught them. At the end of the year, I sent the ukuleles home with two very deserving students to continue to peruse their passion for music over the summer.
My students and I are very appreciative for the materials that have brought joy and opportunities to thrive.”

7th Grade Lahaina Math Class
Funded Oct 29, 2023My students are enjoying our new resources very much. The beanbag chairs and seat pads have created a comfortable place to decompress and do their work. Every day at least one student enjoys a moment of peace laying on the big blue bean bag. My students from last year come in and are so jealous they didn't have them when they were in my class.
The keiki have gobbled up the snacks. Whether I gave them out as a birthday treat or simply because they needed a pick-me-up, snacks always bring a smile to my students faces. I am even going to use the extra funds I have on my account to buy some more.
The Bluetooth speaker is also a real hit. We listen to calming music while we do art and math. We listen to reggae when we play outside. It has added so much joy to my and my students lives. We greatly appreciate the supplies during this time of reconnection and healing of our community.”
With gratitude,
