  • Flexible Seating Combats Anxiety

    My students and I have thoroughly enjoyed the resources provided through this grant. The flexible seating option helps students focus, especially when they are struggling with an attention issue or personal struggles outside of school.

We all know that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a massive impact on adults worldwide. Many times, we forget that kids have also been forced to become resilient and adaptable over the past two years. Experts are saying that depression and anxiety has doubled in children during the pandemic. This affects their day-to-day life tremendously, but especially their learning. I am requesting these wobble stools for my students, because I know that offering them flexible seating is giving them a tool to combat depression and anxiety. Movement increases the oxygen flow to their brain. It allows them to keep their mind more alert, thus also increasing their attention span. I truly believe that having flexible seating will increase the productivity in my classroom.
