Students will be able to lay down the foundation of their subjects faster, allowing them to better understand the additive nature of charcoal, and the subtractive nature of their erasers. Up until now they have always see the eraser as something to fix mistakes, but now they can learn to push and pull shadows and highlights in order to sculpt through paper!
Students will understand the use of different tools and how smaller tools (like their lead pencils) may not necessarily be the best tool for the job. They'll learn that laying out values and pulling details from darkening/ lightening will allow for their studies to shine!
