Social Emotional Learning STEM Activity
Funded Oct 20, 2024Mahalo nui loa for your generosity. Because of you we were able to recognize students through our Renaissance program where we recognize, and reward academic excellence. When students are recognized academically, socially, and show great citizenship, part of the recognition is picking a snack from our snack bins. Having a variety of options make students want to earn recognitions so we reach more students.
We were also able to provide activities for the students with the donations that touch on so many things. We have Laulima (homeroom) competitions where they are tasked to complete STEM projects in a set time. These competitions touch the students in so many ways. They need to communicate, work with other, and make group decisions. They also need to think and be able to complete the tasks that are given to them. The tasks were all STEM tasks where they needed to build something using the given materials and within a time limit. They competed against other homerooms to see who met all of the criteria best. The best part of these challenges is that the students have FUN the entire time.
Our funds this school year because of the Lahaina wildfires wre drastically cut and being able to continue to provide activities for the students that help with their social emotional learning is so important. Your generosity has allowed us to continue to do so. Mahalo!”

Funded Feb 16, 2024Mahalo nui loa for your generosity. Through your generosity, my students are able to continue learning while fidgeting and wobbling in their chairs. It really releases alot of the tension and energy in a positive way while keeping them working. Rather than standing up and walking around the room or tapping the desk or tapping their pencils, they are able to continue working while moving around in their chairs.
The envelopes help not just on the classroom level but on the schoolwide level as well. Students are able to use them to keep their papers together. On the school level, we send home papers in the envelopes and teachers use them as well to keep papers more organized.
The KING SIZE sharpies are the best. Why did I not fint these before? They are way better than regular sharpies.
Disk readers are so important as they help the students transfer files and get them on to their computers.
All of the supplies have allowed my students and myself to have a better learning environment.”

Help My Media Students Be More Productive!
Funded Nov 18, 2023My students absolutely love the wobble stools that were donated. The will run to class to ensure that they have to sit in. I truly feel that this has help expend middle school energy and has kept them productive. They are still able to focus on their work while at the same time wobbling around. The other classroom items that were donated have helped my media students with their projects by giving them additional equipment to work with. So many times our projects have come to a screaching halt because we run out of memory or our batteries die. having spare sd cards and being able to charge batteries have been really helpful. My students are able to complete projects because we do not have to wait. This year has been challenging and your generosity has played a huge roll in the healing process. Mahalo nui.”

Funded Oct 31, 2023The students absolutely love the new things that we have gotten. The wobble chairs are especially appreciate by students and myself since they are now able to wiggle or fidget while getting their work done. It is such a hit I need to purchase more of them.
The batteries and the sd cards have been welcoming as well because batteries are never charged until it is needed so having the extra batteries has helped the students spend more time filming verses waiting around. SD cards are always full and deleting footage from them is sometimes not an option so having new cards on hand has been useful especailly while the students have timed deadlines.
Within the past 4 years, we have had half of our mics "die" on us due to old age. Being able to get a new set will allow us to do interviews on and off school property and while having our mock competitions.
Mahalo nui for your generosity and funding these much needed classroom items. The students and myself truly appreciate it.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lori Koyama
