Many students in my elementary class have higher levels of energy and few opportunities to use it up during P.E. class or recess. Children with autism may find using fidget tools soothing and calming as the tools help them meet their sensory needs. For children with ADHD, the tools can offer a movement outlet that allows the child to focus and concentrate better. People with anxiety also benefit from using fidget tools. In addition, fidget tools help motivate many different styles of learners to focus in the classroom. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in students when they are given a choice of using fidget tools. They almost always are more engaged and get more work completed than when they are just given an assignment or sitting at a desk. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given fidget tools. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them options for fidget tools to make more effective learning choices. The fidget spinners and pop its double as manipulatives for math and ELA activities in the classroom and as a tool to focus the mind. These tools will provide students with a motivator to continue working in the classroom and self-soothe while learning new material.
