As we return to our classrooms in the fall, students will need opportunities to practice interacting with others in a structured manner. Additionally, we want to practice other math skills that may have been missed during our challenging previous year. Many of the games that are part of this wish list will be used regularly, in centers, as independent work, and as group activities beyond math. The notebooks are facilitating our return to writing. Even though this is primarily for the math classroom, we bring in a lot of writing to our studies. We record our vocabulary, we express our understanding through writing, we practice organizing our thoughts through our notebooks. I am also attempting to rebuild my classroom library, so that students who may have finished their math work, and are caught up on their skills and other practice, may have something to do that engages their mind and let them perhaps even escape the math classroom for a moment.
