A few years ago, Hayfield Secondary started a food pantry in order to provide food and other supplies (i.e. hygiene supplies) to students who were in need. While we live in Fairfax County, a county that is pretty well off, there are many families who still suffer from food insecurity. Lack of food often becomes an obstacle to a student's learning, because if they do not have food, they do not have energy to learn. Students who suffer from food insecurity cannot focus on their education when they are more worried about when they will eat next. By donating, you will help to add popular items to the Hayfield Secondary food pantry, especially at the beginning of the year when many items currently in there, may have been sitting for months over the summer. Thanks for your help!
